How did the implementation advance the department's or division's involved, as well as the institution? | Objective 2:4 was fulfilled through training provided by an orientation, workshops, one-on-one meetings and reminders sent through emails. Not only were tutors were reminded consistently of the importance of teaching life-long study skills, but they were also assessed on how well they do so during follow-up meetings with the Tutoring Coordinator. The Tutoring Coordinator will also gauge at tutors' awareness of study skills methods and their ability to teach said methods during group workshops and tutor Self-Evaluation sessions.
Meeting Objective 2:4 also creates a stronger tie with academic departments on campus. Via the resources provided through the Tutorial Center, students learn how to become better students, how to reach out to and communicate with their instructors, and also how to to access other available resources on campus (e.g. MathLab, the Writing Center, Student Portal, Angel, Academic Advising, etc...). |
