More Information

How did the implementation advance the department's or division's involved, as well as the institution?

By reaching out to professors, tutors act as liaisons between the Tutoring Center and the faculty.  Tutors are able to ensure the best services are provided to students by not only addressing the students' needs, but also by addressing faculty needs and recommendations.  This can be done by the tutor when he/she analyzes the faculty recommendation forms, but it can also be done by contacting the faculty member directly.

If the initiative has not been implemented, please explain why
Additional comments, including future plans for this initiative

For the future, the department plans to more actively encourage new and current tutors to contact their new students' instructors.  Doing so will help build a rapport between tutor and faculty member.  It will also help the tutors as well as the center build a stronger connection with the academic departments on campus.
