Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Certificate program  sponsored by American Dental Association for new member of the dental health team. The online or hybrid curriculum is free to an established dental hygiene program. The college administration must meet with the Program project manager to formulate the agreement. The benefits are as follows: additional credential for dental hygiene student/graduate, dental assistants can expand skills and employment opportunities, provide qualified personnel for the rapidly changing health care delivery systems in our county and patients increase access to care and prevent disease.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

This is a free curriculum that is offered to accredited dental hygiene programs to offer as a certificate program for graduate dental hygienists and dental assistants. It has the possibility of being a program that could be offered with  CAPE and may be an alternative for candidates who are not able to be accepted into or committ to the DH program.
