Continue to offer the CASAC Problem Gambling Specialty Credential courses for AY 2016-17

Initiative TitleContinue to offer the CASAC Problem Gambling Specialty Credential courses for AY 2016-17
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

SUNY Orange received approval from OASAS to offer the CASAC Problem Gambling Specialty Credential courses beginning in Fall 2014. The program had sufficient enrollment for the Fall 2014 initial semester offering, but has not had enrollment in order to run again for Spring 2015, Fall 2015 or Spring 2016 despite increased marketing efforts.

Due to increased media attention to the future casino being built in Sullivan county, continue to offer the Problem Gambling program for AY 2016-17 with continued marketing efforts geared toward this niche audience.  Make determination in Spring 2017 if program should be continued or be placed on hiatus until such time a greater need exists.
