| Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale | In the summers of 2016 and 2017 we offered one-week long summer youth camps for architecture. Feedback from the students and their parents was very positive. Some of these students plan to attend our college to study architecture. We would like to develop these "camps" into a 1 credit course titled; " Architectural Design Workshop". As a credit bearing course, the college would get FTE monies, faculty would be paid an appropriate rate, and the students would earn a college credit. The cost to the students would be about the same as it is now. Note: this course would not satisfy any course requirements in the arch. tech. degree path. |
| Consequences of this initiative not being funded | We will continue to offer the camps as a pay-as-you-go method. Faculty would continue to be underpaid for the time and effort that this these camps require. It may be difficult to find faculty interested in doing the camps in the future. We believe that the college would earn more money for these summer camps if it were structured as a 1 credit course. The students will not earn any credits for their efforts. |
