| Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale | It is a top priority of the Department to fill the recently vacated Chair position. Finding a suitable full-time, dedicated replacement is imperative in order to ensure that the administrative and leadership operations of the Department remain functional. Someone needs to provide organization, leadership, and technical direction both for our staff and our students. Whomever is chosen to helm the Department needs not only managerial skills, but should possess a wide-ranging breadth of technical knowledge as well as a deep understanding of current industry practice. |
| Consequences of this initiative not being funded | It is imperative that this position be filled immediately. Given the rate at which technology evolves, it is disastrous to allow a Department such as ours to remain without leadership and technical direction for any extended period. |
