The office has two full-time professional staff and one grant-funded, part-time Internship Developer position.  The grant-funded positions is due to expire in June of 2015.  Losing this position will have a serious effect on our ability to assist the academic departments in securing internship positions for their students registered in the credit internship classes.

We are only able to staff Newburgh one day per week and hiring a full-time person would allow us to staff the Newburgh office on 1-2 additional days.

Additional staff could assist in developing new programs.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Career Services representation at Newburgh will continue to be limited to one day per week and program initiatives in Newburgh will not be as robust as it could be.

Placement of credit internship students may be adversely impacted.

Department GoalsImplement an ambassador program with work study students whose efforts will be directed towards marketing our services, jobs and internships., Reach out to academic departments 1-3 times per academic year in order to increase awareness of our services. , Identify and pursue grant opportunities to address staffing shortage.
