The Clinical Laboratory Science Department must hire a full time instructor to  replace the full time instructor who assumed the Interim Chair position. The department must meet the NAACLS accreditation requirements. A faculty request form has been submitted to the AVP for Health Professions.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

The program must have a full time faculty instructor to provide continuity in teaching the courses for MLT and Phlebotomy. The adjuncts that are teaching the courses now are highly experienced, knowledgeable and professional in this field, however, their main hospital jobs take priority for them.

Scheduling adjuncts for all the MLT and Phlebotomy courses becomes a challenge since their primary jobs take priority.

These programs (MLT and Phlebotomy) may be in jeopardy of not being able to be accredited if courses are not taught in a consistent manner. The students will not be able to become licensed.
