The plan for 2024 will include a writing/poetry master class by a literary noteworthy chosen in cooperation with the Poetry Committee of the English Department, a lecture on a timely topic or topic of interest chosen in cooperation with CIDE (Committee for Institutional Diversity and Equity), and a concert plus a related music master class.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Unfortunately, some plans may be cut back. Diminishing the plans will be try to be avoided, however.

Institutional Goals

Goal How will the initiative support this institutional goal?
To provide high quality academic courses and programs that prepare a diverse student population to achieve its educational, employment and enrichment goals. Learning about different cultures and traditions opens individuals to the appreciation and the enjoyment of them and leads to an understanding of the adaptations of cultures and traditions in modern times but realizes the foundations from which they came and why individuals may react differently or base their opinions, thereby enriching their life’s experiences and leading to a broader education and an invitation to employment in fields never originally anticipated.
