Cisco has been the standard for networking equipment for well over 20 years.  The Cisco Networking Academy has a well-established online education platform that supports high school and college technology curriculum worldwide.  Offering Cisco training as well as complementary curriculum from the Academy, will not only expand CAPE's offerings, but also provide value-added training to the College's Applied Technology students.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Not able to build additional networking equipment capacity.

Additional business and industry connections will be necessary to confirm the needed skills for IT professionals.
Non-credit programming falls under this Middle States standard.
Collaborating with credit faculty to offer an industry-recognized certification and developing the overall implementation of the Cisco curriculum with the potential for articulation into credit will extend CAPE's reach and enhance the existing academic IT program.
With Cisco behind the curriculum and their assistance with business and industry, the College will be able to offer timely skills training
