Improve Classroom Facilities - Better Projection Arrangements and Replace Aging Chairs

Initiative TitleImprove Classroom Facilities - Better Projection Arrangements and Replace Aging Chairs
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Four of our classrooms have poor projection capability with aging projectors on carts that project on the speaker as well as the screen. Projectors should be mounted above. Screens are obsolete in that they don't allow notes and marks to be added to the projection. The rooms of concern are BT-355, BT-357, BT-113 and BT-253.

We have received a great number student complaints about the state of the Chairs in  BT-355 Computer Laboratory.  As such, we are asking for replacement chairs for this room.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Currently, it is only natural for the instructors to reduce and/or avoid projections when in fact it would enhance the overall learning experience to be able to do more of this type of display.

Although current complaints are generally about comfort, given the physical state of some of the chairs, this could eventually become a safety issue.
