The technical setup and introduction of this tool as well as initial training was made possible thanks to Title III funding. We planned a soft roll out whereby the feature was made available to all advisors by the end of the Fall 2017 semester. Introduction and initial training to the Advising team began in December 2017 and continued in the Spring of 2018. This feature allows advisors to create personalized academic plans based on students' academic needs (developmental requirements, transfer credits, part time status, etc.) to help them stay on track toward graduation. We intended to introduce this feature to new students beginning Fall 2018. However, this was unrealistic due to the amount of required resources (time and staffing). There is also a lack of clarity on how this task will be handled by faculty advisors as the academic plans need to be updated manually as students progress in their studies. Also, conversations and training shifted to the introduction of the ALP model (ENG 101/098) at scale leaving this project on hold. This coming year, the Advising team will attempt to create students' plans in Degree Works Planner for new students who are ENG 101 ready.
