Introduction to Geology course (new)

Initiative TitleIntroduction to Geology course (new)
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Work with new geology faculty to develop a 3 credit (2lect/2lab) Introduction to Geology course designed specifically for liberal arts students.  Currently all of our geology offerings are university level designed for transfer into a geology program.  The goal is that we will be able to run 3 to 4 geology courses every semester, rather than the 1 to 2 which run now.

This course may also be of interest to students outside of the geology track.

It will be listed as a gen ed under the natural science silo, and is open to any student meeting the mathematics requirement.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

WE may not be meeting the needs of our students. We do not have a liberal arts level geology course.
