Governance leaders perform critical duties for the institution. In order to better do so, funding is vital so they can be trained to perform those responsibilities. This would include in house training for governance leaders, as well as local and regional conferences sponsored by FCCC and SUNY.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Governance leaders will be less prepared to assume their duties and conduct the business of shared governance.

Middle States expects close collaboration between faculty staff and administration. They value shared governance. To meet this goal, we must have properly trained members of our governance leadership community.
d: To properly plan for the college's future, there need to be governance personnel who are aware of local and state priorities and best practices in their leadership area.
