Initiative TitleReplace seating in all 3 lab rooms in the Clinical Lab Technology Department to include BT 315, 317, and 319
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

The wooden chairs in these labs are old ( at least 30 years old) and have not been replaced since I have been here. Injury can result from students continuing to use these chairs that are falling apart. Also, newer lab seats would be adjustable so that students can have a better learning experience using microscopes and equipment. They would be able to adjust the seats to the height they need to work at the lab bench

The following are the courses that use these lab rooms:

MLT 106 Microbiology for Health Professionals (Nursing and Dental Hygiene students approximately 120 students per semester)

MLT 109 (Phlebotomy) new class every semester, 16 students per semester

MLT 209 General Microbiology approximately 25 students -MLT and Biology

MLT 212 Clinical Microbiology 14 students

MLT 103 Immunology 16 students

MLT 203 Blood Bank  14 students

MLT 104 Urinalysis  14 students

MLT 207 and 208 Clinical Chemistry 14 students

MLT 105 Intro to Lab Science 14 students

MLT 110 and 101 Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology (MLT and Office Technology students approximately 25 students)

Consequences of this initiative not being funded
