The College has placed an emphasis on retention and completion. Completion is also a focus of the national agenda. The area of Student Support Initiatives has worked closely with students who are returning to the College on academic probation after a leave of absence. Many of these students are no longer eligible for financial aid as a result of their previous academic history.  Data reveals that the students who have attended our Restart Workshop and offered intrusive advising are being retained at a high rate and enjoying higher GPA’s.  In past years, the funding obtained from the Foundation has enabled students to cover academic costs that have resulted from the void left by the lack of financial aid. The $20,000 will result in the continuation of the investment that has been made in ensuring the success of these students.
