Implementing this system can address current and emerging skill gaps, provide a means to engage directly with industry across traditional   boundaries, better align state programs and resources serving employers and  workers.  Sector Strategies coupled  with Career Pathways System will have the following benefits:  Align skills needs of industries important   to a regional or state economy, reflect the active engagement of employers in   targeted industry sectors regarding skill requirements for employment and   career progression, Is a marketing tool for the region to help attract   businesses, have the goal of increasing an individual’s educational and   skills attainment and employment outcomes, lead to the attainment of an   industry-recognized degree or credential, which may include stackable   credentials of value in the labor market (and may articulate to higher-level   credentials or degrees).
