Initiative Title | Subscription for Big Interview |
Submitted in Previous Year(s) | No |
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale | During the past year Big Interview was funded by the Foundation and we would like to continue its use in 17/18.
It is a interview training system that features a new and innovative way to help students prepare more effectively for a job interview. It is an online system that combines training and practice to help improve students' interview technique and build their confidence. Employers frequently comment on the lack of student preparedness when interviewing for jobs. Students who complete the video training show a marked improvement in their interviewing techniques and feel more confident.
During the past 6 months we have had 80 users and 212 video recordings. We expect this number to increase as we promote the program more frequently.
|
Consequences of this initiative not being funded | The ability to practice interviewing techniques online won't be available. Students may be less likely to practice proper interviewing techniques resulting in a decreased ability to interview professionally and secure employment. |
Department Goals | Utilize technology to deliver services and engage students in career development activities. |
