The Faculty Tablet Program

Initiative TitleThe Faculty Tablet Program
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

The faculty tablet program has provided over 35 faculty with the use of either an iPad or Surface tablet in their teaching and learning efforts. Using these devices faculty are able to access online and face to face course materials, develop presentations and project from their tablets in the classroom, grade student work, access remote CTL events through the live stream and a variety of other effective practices.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

If this initiative is not funded the College is losing out on opportunities to support innovation in teaching and learning, not only for faculty but for the benefit of our students. The tablet program supports the use of web and digital tools within coursework and encourages faculty to consider future hybrid and online course offerings.

Department GoalsExpand the variety of formats through which college faculty and staff can participate in professional development events, including face to face, live streaming, social media, and on-demand formats., Communicate, support, and increase innovative teaching and learning tools and practices that impact student learning.
