Workforce Development Opportunities for ESL and HSE Students

Initiative TitleWorkforce Development Opportunities for ESL and HSE Students
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Short term Pell grants and Workforce Development grants integrated with the ESL and HSE programs would afford students in these programs to combine their study with studying in courses to develop marketable skills and prepare for jobs in the workplace.

The proposed program will prepare participants for success in finding job training programs offered by CAPE while they continue their studies in our programs. In addition, the following programs directly facilitate the development of job skills and employment success:

  • Pharmacy Tech
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Cannabis production

These programs are available through CAPE grants. We will disseminate information about opportunities in these programs to our students and facilitate thier entry into these fields. We will meet with teachers and students in the classroom to make students aware of  these opportunities. To further inform students we will present examples of work in these fields through in class presentations.
