For over 60 years, alumni have played a significant role in the defining and shaping of Orange County Community College. The alumni relations and special events objective is to continually improve a defined alumni relationship building and community engagement process that brings mutual joy, pride and satisfaction to both present and future alumni and community members. A vibrant alumni relations and special events program is one in which graduates, donors and volunteers are engaged and supporting the college to the full extent of their ability, through both their time and personal resources.

Department Goals

Specific things the department wishes to achieve or accomplish this academic year.

1 • Oversee alumni relations, foundation and College special events.
2 • Ensure alumni relations and special events are organized in a professional manner and improvements and additions are made where needed. Assess events and modify based on feedback from attendees and other assessment measures.
3 • Actively meet and engage alumni through outreach events that will result in volunteerism, student internship opportunities, philanthropy, successful student recruitment and programs that promote SUNY Orange as the primary education option among alumni.
4 • Continue to expand and develop our communications with our alumni through appropriate social networks, mail, e-mail correspondence and the new alumni online Net Community SPARK.
5 • Continue to conduct and expand structured alumni annual giving campaigns with the AVP of Resource Development and Coordinator of Resource Development. 2016-2017 focus will be to engage Alumni GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) more fully and in differe

9 Under the direction of the VP of Institutional Advancement and key alumni advisors, update the College’s Alumni Relations Strategy.
