Summary

The Office of Student Activities is focused on providing opportunities for students to have a co-curricular experience that enables them to grow and develop as students. Our co-curricular programming is designed to complement and support the academic experience and lends itself to further academic growth. Moreover, the office is committed to helping students grow as leaders and obtain the tools to help them navigate life’s challenges, the workplace, and society as a whole. Finally, at the core of our work with students is ensuring a connection with the faculty outside the classroom and utilizing their expertise to support continued learning facilitated through club involvement.

Learning Outcomes

Through their involvement in Student Activities programs, students will:

-Demonstrate an understanding of group dynamics and effective teamwork

-Develop a range of leadership skills and awareness of their own leadership style

-Develop a broader range of communication skills

-Develop a commitment to community service

-Develop an awareness of the benefits of co-curricular involvement and associated skill development

Goals

-complete proposal for new assessment plan and share with club advisors

-continue to move processes and forms from paper to electronic versions including the Student Senate budget process and club recognition

 

-work with the AVPs to find new opportunities for faculty involvement in the I-Connect program

 

-develop new resources and guidelines to assist club advisors in their roles

 

-work to increase involvement in student elections through use of online voting
