Over the last 25 years, technology in Diagnostic Imaging has taken a quantum leap forward with the advent of Digital Imaging.  Currently, the Diagnostic Imaging Department is using x-ray film and equipment that is 10 – 16 years old.  While x-ray film and darkrooms are still in use in some remote areas, ceiling mounted x-ray tubes that interface with digital imaging is the norm.  Without current imaging equipment, student clinical skills are hampered.  The department goals focus on enhancing digital radiographic imaging skills.

Department Goals

Specific things the department wishes to achieve or accomplish this academic year.

# Department Goal
1 Enhance radiographic positioning skills through the use of ceiling mounted digital x-ray tube equipment.
2 Improve student understanding and application of digital imaging through the use of Digital Direct Radiographic Image Receptors.
3 Improve student understanding of clinical skills through the use of lab installed video feedback equipment.
