The Office of Educational Partnerships oversees the following programs:

  • Community College in the High School Program (CCHSP) offers college courses to juniors and seniors at Orange County high schools and also through Orange-Ulster BOCES. In the Spring of 2024, we introduced the use of Kuali forms to improve the registration experience for CCHS student. In the Fall of 2025, we encouraged CCHS students to log onto their MySUNYOrange to pay their account balance. This allowed them to understand excatly which classes they were registered for and how much they owed to the college. It also allowed them to avoid the 2.75% surcharge of the payment app we were using previously.
    • Mid Spring 2025 an initiative will be launched to show students how to order their transcripts, investigate their options at SUNY Orange, and to become familiar with our articulation agreements.
    • The next step is to make DegreeWorks accessible to CCHS students so that they can see their progress toward completing a Liberal Arts AA.
    • In addition, it is hoped that assistance with financial aid and early academic advising can be offered to CCHS students.
  • Transfer (Articulation) Agreements with local high schools enable high school and OU BOCES students to receive college credit that is applicable toward degrees and certificates offered by OCCC.
    • All articulation agreements are under review to take into account the new SUNY Orange Gen Ed requirements.
    • A comprehensive list of articulation agreements and their status has been uploaded to a shared google drive for access by department chairs.
    • Re-tooling of the Articulation webpage is required to make it easier for students to use and understand.
  • Transfer (Articulation) Agreements with four-year colleges and universities delineate and/or streamline OCCC students' course and program transfer options at specific colleges and universities.
  • Credit for Previous Learning (CPL), awarding credit for learning that happened outside of the classroom is close to being finalized. The expectation is that this will expand opportunities for non-traditional students who are looking to earn academic credentials.

All of these programs are/will be in place to assist future and current students to accomplish their academic goals in a timely, efficient, and cost effective manner.
