2015 - 2016 Governance Plan

A general statement (narrative) about what the department wants to accomplish.

Preliminary goals and plans of Governance and Executive Committee the 2015-2016 academic year are:

- Investigate options for transitioning voting at Assembly meetings from paper ballots to electronic voting.

- Continue to work in conjunction with the CTL to develop governance leaders training and provide opportunities for faculty & staff to gain a better understanding of what shared governance is and its purpose.

- Have the necessary governance constituents (committees and/or individuals) contribute to the efforts necessary for the institution to address the the suggestions, recommendations and requirements resulting from our Middle States Self- Study.

- Continue committee assessment, making any modifications necessary based on the assessment completed in the spring 2015.

- Develop and administer an institutional feedback survey of shared governance.

1	Gather feedback from college community regarding the funcitonality of shared governance and use the information to identify changes that could be made to improve shared governance at SUNY Orange.
2	Develop workshops and professional development opportunities to better inform college employees of what shared governance is and assist governance committee chairs and members to be more effective.
3	Complete the third round of committee self-assessment.
4	Transition voting at Assembly meetings from paper ballots to electronic ballots.
