The Health Professions Division is committed to delivering high-quality academic programs and courses that prepare students for employment within their chosen discipline as well as transfer to related programs at four-year colleges and universities.

Our programs have an outstanding history of graduates achieving excellent pass rates on national, state board, and licensure examinations, as well as preparing our students for employment and leadership roles in healthcare organizations throughout the Hudson Valley.

The Health Professions Division offers the following academic degree programs and courses:

Our Exercise Studies, A.S., degree prepares students for employment opportunities in exercise related areas (cardiac rehabilitation, corporate or private fitness), as well as transfer to related programs at four-year colleges and universities.

Our Public Health, A.S., degree prepares students to serve as leaders of health and wellness to address continuing and emerging health challenges by developing and implementing disease prevention, health promotion, and health protection strategies for individuals, groups, and communities as well as transfer to related programs at four-year colleges and universities.

Our selective educational degree programs that prepare students for professional careers in healthcare as well as continued study at four-year colleges and universities include:

  • Dental Hygiene, A.A.S.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician, A.A.S.
  • Nursing, A.A.S.
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant, A.A.S.
  • Physical Therapist Assistant, A.A.S.
  • Radiologic Technology, A.A.S.
  • Phlebotomy, an approved course by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science that prepares students to sit for the National Certification Examination.

Consistent with the College’s Strategic and Academic plans, for Academic Year 2018-2019, we plan to educate the healthcare workforce of the future.  We have a proud tradition of educating healthcare professionals, always with a focus on improving the quality of life and the well-being of those we serve.

1 1. Provide leadership and support to Department Chairs, Faculty and Staff to facilitate ongoing/current initiatives.
2 2. Work closely with Department Chairs and Faculty to maintain compliance with academic program accreditation standards and review processes.
3 3. Work with Department Chairs, Faculty, and Student Services to explore new advising method/pathway for students wishing to enter selective health professions programs.
4 4. Foster development of additional health-related programs (non-credit, certificate, credit, continuing professional education).
5 5. Identify, secure and allocate resources that advance the priorities of the Division (emergency equipment fund).
