The HAB again considered the goals and initiatives on which we wanted to focus and felt that what we had submitted last year remains consistent--with one switch out (listed last).

Appropriate, dedicated space remains a top priority; while we have some make-do space in RSCE, it is not a permanent home and does not meet all of our needs.

Scholarships remain a priority as providing all of our students with funded--whether fully or some at 50%--is important, especially as our numbers of students of color and first gen continue to grow. Scholarships enhance our ability to recruit -- targeting specific populations -- support and retain students.

Funding for experiential learning (conferences, etc.) also are vital to both students and faculty: without a guaranteed line and source, we do not know if we have conference money much less how much. That makes encouraging students and faculty to submit proposals rather difficult.

Our new line request is to facilitate a new type of capstone project: we would like to offer students the opportunity to do an extended service project for capstone, but without funding todo so, we are reluctant. Securing a line to help students offset the costs of a project would mean we could offer the option.
