Establishing a supervisory/managerial leadership development program will empower department leaders while concurrently aligning with the college’s strategic goal of investing in our people. Addressing skill and knowledge gaps through training strengthens the skills supervisors and manager need to do their jobs effectively and with confidence.

Training creates a workplace culture that makes employees feel valued, appreciated supported, and challenged.  Employees who feel appreciated and challenged through training opportunities tend to feel greater job satisfaction. Robust training and development programs ensure that employees have a consistent experience and are well versed in expectations, policies, and procedures.

Another critical goal for the HR department is streamlining search committee processes procedures and establishing corresponding written procedures. The recruitment of new staff is among one of the most important enterprises in which the college must engage.  Well executed and well-planned  searches add vibrancy to an organization. Hence, the process must clear and strategic in order to facilitate successful outcomes.
