Over the next year, the Liberal Arts Division will focus on initiatives aimed at strengthening our programs and offerings to demonstrate the critical role a Liberal Arts education plays in the foundation of a student’s educational journey.

Department Goals

Specific things the department wishes to achieve or accomplish this academic year.

# Department Goal
1 Create curriculum maps for each program offered in Liberal Arts to address both SUNY Seamless Transfer and Middle States needs.
2 Define the SUNY Seamless Transfer paths we will develop and work with department chairs to come into compliance with SUNY’s 64-credit limit.
3 Work with CTL, Arts & Communication faculty, and the Communications Office to create a promotional video for each department.
4 Create faculty spotlight videos to demonstrate the strength and excellence of Liberal Arts faculty.
5 Support Faculty attendance at conferences and seminars, and host at least one guest lecture at a Division Meeting.
6 Have New Media Program approved by SUNY and promote program in order to get to full enrollment.
7 Explore potential Video Gaming track in New Media Program.
8 Work with Arts & Communication to develop preliminary plans for a Fine Arts Center.
9 Work with Behavioral Science Department to secure a Human Services Coordinator.
10 Restructure the administration of the English Department.
11 Secure JRTEP agreement for the Education Department with SUNY New Paltz, and explore additional options with Mercy College.
12 Support Global Initiative by increasing participation at events.
13 Increase Morale among faculty.
14 Increase number of Distance Learning Courses in Liberal Arts.
