2015 - 2016 Liberal Arts, AVP Office Plan

A general statement (narrative) about what the department wants to accomplish.

AY 2015-2016 will focus on completing all curricula updates needed for SUNY Seamless Transfer. This will be a year of both reflecting and planning, determining what we currently do, and what we need to do in order to be better educators. Special attention will be paid to examining DL offerings and creative scheduling options. We will also focus on expediting developmental education, increasing learning communities and offering more applied learning opportunities for students.

1	Work with Departments to complete SUNY Seamless Transfer Path curriculum changes.
2	Continue to develop creative interventions to expedite developmental education, including finding alternate funding streams for mobile computer purchase
3	Work with Marketing Department to market the New Media Program
4	Increase the number of DL offerings in LA
5	Work with Chairs to explore creative scheduling options
6	Develop an annual planning cycle with IPAR Director to share with Dept. Chairs, and provide chairs with materials to assist them in their planning efforts
7	Offer off-campus professional development and leadership training to department chairs (chair retreat?)
8	Develop Video-gaming Program
9	Secure articulation agreements with Private colleges for several programs in LA
