SUNY Orange Liberty Partnerships Program continues to have strong partnerships with the Newburgh Enlarged City School District and the Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh. These partnerships continue to thrive despite the unfortunate interruption of COVID-19. LPP continues to plan with the Boys and Girls Club to provide activities that center around Sports & Wellness and Art Therapy. In resuming programming LPP has also established new partnerships with Cornell Cooperative Extension to provide the 4-H program which centers around Nutrition and Healthy Living. LPP has reestablished partnerships with Follow Us to Success and Hats & Ladders, which are programs that boost academic enrichment, social emotional learning, civic engagement, career readiness, and post-secondary education discussions.

SUNY Orange LPP looks to foster a new partnership with SHRED, which is an organization that has a snowboarding initiative centered around inner-city students learning about the business of snowboarding, which encompasses everything from learning how to snowboard to design, marketing and branding of merchandise. SHRED & LPP will also work in providing in house mental health services to students and parents through their connections with a local health insurance organization.

SUNY Orange LPP will also initiate a more active student and parent engagement initiatives. This will encompass providing seminars, workshops, trips, and in school activities that will ensure that parents buy into the program and become partners in the success of their child. SUNY Orange LPP will also be starting a community initiative that is centered around community engagement and recruitment. We hope to provide one monthly activity in each of our target schools in which we will invite the current participants & parents in addition to school administration, staff and the school community so that they may enjoy a themed event, be provided with information about SUNY Orange LPP and our staff can do in person recruitment for new student.
