The Nursing department has seen a significant decrease in NCLEX pass rates for the most recent year's cohort, particularly the Middletown Day program. In addition, our program completion rate in 4 semesters in the past year was only around 50%. Therefore, we must develop and implement strategies to improve the program completion rates and maintain or improve NCLEX pass rates. In order to meet our goals, and to maintain the rigor and quality of the program, open full-time faculty positions will need to be filled with highly qualified candidates. In addition, student support activities will need to be expanded, including increased skill lab support staff hours; and we will need to make a significant investment in our equipment and technology to keep pace with a rapidly changing health care environment that reflects current practice.
