The College’s 2020-2025 Strategic Plan places charges us with enhancing the effectiveness of our human resources to achieve holistic, student-centered outcomes that contribute to an enriching experience for both students and employees. As part of this initiative, this year, the Human Resources and Payroll teams will concentrate on the implementation of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and Payroll system. This transition is a significant undertaking that will demand considerable time and expertise from our HR and Payroll teams for most of the year.

The implementation phase is crucial, as it will lay the groundwork for a more efficient and streamlined HR operation. Following the successful deployment of the system, the focus will shift toward training end users and optimizing the various functionalities of the platform. It is important to recognize that there will be a learning curve associated with this transition. Both payroll and HR staff will need to invest time in mastering the new system to fully utilize its features and benefits.

The new HRIS and Payroll systems are designed to automate numerous HR tasks, which will significantly enhance our operational efficiency. Tasks such as recruitment, onboarding, time tracking, and payroll processing will be streamlined, reducing the reliance on manual efforts and minimizing the potential for errors. This automation will not only save time but will also allow our HR team to focus on strategic initiatives rather than administrative tasks.

Moreover, the new system will greatly improve our ability to manage, process, update, and access employee data. Enhanced data management capabilities will facilitate more accurate record-keeping and provide us with better insights into our workforce. Additionally, the system will offer robust reporting capabilities, enabling us to analyze critical metrics related to workforce performance, payroll costs, and compliance issues. This data will be invaluable for informed strategic decision-making, allowing us to align our HR practices with the College's broader goals.

In addition to these benefits, HR will commit substantial resources to providing comprehensive training for employee self-service functionalities and the responsibilities of managers. This training is essential to ensure that all employees can effectively navigate the new system, empowering them to take control of their personal information and HR-related tasks. By equipping our managers with the necessary tools and knowledge, we aim to foster a culture of accountability and engagement throughout the College.

The implementation of the new HRIS and Payroll system represents a pivotal step in our ongoing efforts to enhance the effectiveness of our human resources.
