The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is demonstrating great progress.  The program has been granted full accreditation status and has successfully completed all subsequent submissions of progress/compliance reports.  The 2 most recent graduating classes having sat for their licensure exam demonstrated success as follows: graduating class of 2020, a first time pass rate of 81.3% and a subsequent ultimate pass rate of 93.8%; graduating class of August 2021, a first time pass rate of 93.3% and a subsequent ultimate pass rate of 100%; graduating class of 2022, a first time pass rate of 90.9% with 10 of 11 graduates having taken the exam in October (the 11th graduate scheduled to sit for their licensure exam in January 2023 and the one failure to retake the exam in January 2023). To continue to progress and refine educational experiences and success of the program students, additional equipment, resources such as review courses and materials, and faculty development are being requested. In addition, the PTA Program most recently suffered the attrition of the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education, leaving the program with only one fulltime faculty member (the Department Chair). In order to return to accreditation compliance this position needs to be filled as the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education requires each PTA Program to maintain  the requisite of 2, preferably 3 fulltime dedicated faculty. These items/people are necessary to maintain the Program's ability to remain competitive both in the clinical and educational sense.
