Initiative Title1. Complete a cultural studies degree with several areas of concentration from which a student could choose
Submitted in Previous Year(s)2022
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

The creation of a multi-pronged degree would expand offerings in areas of relevance to students of today, draw and and highlight courses from most of the departments in the liberal arts division, and provide opportunities for faculty and students.  We also could increase transfer paths to sister institutions and most importantly, expand our diversity and equity offerings and opportunities.

This is a low cost, but potentially high impact option.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

While "consequences" seems extreme, two are that we will remain limited in our offerings and miss an opportunity to allow students to expand their studies in diversity and equity.

Department GoalsExplore and expand course offerings as appropriate, including DEISJ opportunities, Increase enrollment and retention in IDS and HUM courses, Make connections to other areas and groups, both on and off campus
