The SUNY system recently debuted a framework to assist SUNY colleges in implementing instruction in the Science of Teaching Reading. It will be critically important that both community colleges and state operated campuses implement this instruction to prepare for their work in the classroom. High quality instruction includes the use of hands on materials and exposure to updated resource materials. 

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

If not funded, students may not be exposed to useful resources or classroom materials that will help with their teacher preparation.
