Admissions Student Ambassadors Incentives and Rewards

Initiative TitleAdmissions Student Ambassadors Incentives and Rewards
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, RationaleThis volunteer group needs a tangible reward for their volunteer work which is extensive and includes working as greeters and trouble shooters during Open Houses, Admissions Receptions, Information Nights, making phone calls to potential students and leading campus tours in a variety of different venues. The Admissions Office also would like them to wear something that identifies their College both for the students and families and for the general public. They are Ambassadors for the College in the community at large. We want them to have articles of clothing from the Bookstore; a nice polo shirt. that they can all wear at campus events at which they are working, windbreakers and caps, etc.
Consequences of this initiative not being fundedThe Admissions Office is not paying these students. We want individuals who really want to serve their school. The Admissions Office does, however, need to show appreciation beyond free pizzas at their trainings and letters of recommendation when they transfer or leave for work. We feel that without this visible confirmation of their value to the school that we will lose their enthusiasm, and eventually, the volunteers themselves.
