API Integration Platform

Initiative TitleAPI Integration Platform
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Continued growth in third-party vendor support requiring access to core service data structures often means high levels of programming in order to provide the required integration.  The Information Services staff is looking to augment the current capabilities by implementing a low-code Application Programming Interface (API) mechanism to allow for quicker implementation times and lower front-end costs associated with onboarding new services.  Our current preference is an application called DreamFactory that can be stood up in front of Banner allowing for reusable connectivity and modular growth as new services come on board.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

If this initiative is not funded, ITS will continue to require longer timeframes to implement new services.
