Initiative Title | Continue to partner with other community colleges to offer programs needed by client organizations in multiple counties in New York State. |
Submitted in Previous Year(s) | No |
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale | Partnering with other community colleges allows all of us to increase our capacity, since curricula developed by one college can be offered at other locations convenient to client organizations. It effectively opens the entire menu of training and professional development programs at all community colleges to client organizations throughout the state, and saves development time and money. |
Consequences of this initiative not being funded | Collaborations such as these have been merely fantasy for over 20 years. Because of diminishing resources, all community colleges are struggling to do more with less. By partnering, each college greatly increases its offerings, and New York State organizations will be able to access quality programs in many locations across the state. Programs can be delivered by instructors at each college, or can be offered via videoconferencing. Grant funding sources are increasingly prioritizing proposals by their potential impact and by their utilization of coordinated, systemic, strategic solutions to training needs. |
Department Goals | Demonstrate financial self-sufficiency and increase the College's resources and capacity, Increase educational opportunities available through CAPE, Build strong partnerships and collaborations with external organizations, Strengthen institutional effectiveness efforts / operational excellence |
