Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale	In order to create a better experience for and better serve the students in our clubs and organizations, a graduate intern position would: -assist students in planning events -assist with completion of financial and budget forms, processing of approved orders for supplies and equipment, and other required paperwork -encourage the development of new clubs and assist students with the process for recognition -create initiatives and programs to increase general student awareness of co-curricular opportunities and the benefits of involvement Drawing on the resources of students in Graduate Higher Education programs at other colleges and universities in the area to fill this internship position would allow us to more economically increase the staff available to students in the CSI and provide better and more effective services.
Consequences of this initiative not being funded	The CSI is committed to colleges goals of increasing student recruitment, retention and completion/success and believes that student awareness of and active involvement in co-curricular programs contributes to these goals. However, the current staff is at capacity in terms of the amount of programs and services it is able to offer and positions such as this internship are critical for the CSI to be able to expand its outreach and program offerings to students.

STRATEGIC PLAN 2015-2020 PRIORITY II: Student Support and Success: We will support our students in achieving their educational and career goals. c: Increase student retention, completion, transfer, and employment readiness.	Studies demonstrate that co-curricular programs such as those offered by CSI contribute to these priorities. Having appropriate staff in place would allow us to more effectively serve students and focus on increasing student involvement.
