Development of an OTA skills practice lab

Initiative TitleDevelopment of an OTA skills practice lab
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Based on our review of our interim self study and the newly initiated educational standard changes regarding our program, we will be revising our curriculum to meet the new standards.

In light of these new standards, we will need to add a skills labĀ  to our OTA curriculum. As yous know we are not able to exceed the SUNY 64 credit limit, therefore we need to eliminate the English tech writing course.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

Will not be in full compliance of the new practice standards set forth by ACOTE.

Students will not have the clinical hands on experience to be successful in field.
