Directional Signage

Initiative TitleDirectional Signage
Submitted in Previous Year(s)2006-2007
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, RationaleThis initiative was part of the 2006-2007 Institutional Advancement PBIE Initiatives. It was removed from the PBIE request as funding was made available in the IA budget. However, with the VP for Administrations request for departments to curtail spending, the funding in the IA budget for directional signage was removed.
Consequences of this initiative not being fundedSUNY Orange will continue to confuse students and other users with it lack of signage. Many departments are making great strides in customer service. however, one of the most basis services, directions, are lacking and thus contridicting the other valuable customer service programs taking place at SUNY Orange

Prioritization Notes

Level 4 (PBIE Committee)

There is a need on the Middletown campus for more clear and effective directional signage. Currently, the campus is not well marked, and is often confusing to students and visitors. New students and visitors to campus would have a much better experience finding buildings and events. New uniform, external signage will also give the College and the campus better identity and visibility. Signage to get people to campus and aroundcampus when they are here is imperative to present a clear and compelling image of the college to all who use our educational environment.
