Institutional Goals

Goal How will the initiative support this institutional goal?
The concept in the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month is to embrace diversity and learn from and enjoy our differences. In so doing the audiences, no matter the age, learns and better understands.
“Effective communication… enhances their awareness of civic responsibility and cultural diversity.” This is a section of a college goal of 2011. College is more than learning specific subjects. It is a time of maturation of one’s being, whether the person is a newly graduated high school student or a returning student who is also a parent or newly invigorated person. Colleges bring all sorts of peoples together. Learning from each directly and through programs that broaden one’s outlook and capacity of knowledge is the practical aspect of Cultural Affairs and programming such as what is offered during Hispanic Heritage Month.
