Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale	Business faculty need to remain current in accounting practices, office technologies, and updated educational delivery systems. To date, they are allowed $150 per year for updates. Each year this amount is insufficient for them to attend a national conference. We seek approval to offer $3000 each year for faculty members, on a rotating basis to attend a national or regional conferences and share their expertise upon return. These conferences would likely be sponsored by ACBSP, NBEA, EBEA, League for Innovation, CIT.

COLLEGE I: To provide courses in the arts, sciences, health professions, humanities, business and technology at the level of Associate degree programs, certificates, training and developmental programs to meet student needs for further education, employment and personal growth. 6: To assess classroom support and technology needs on a departmental basis and implement the necessary classroom upgrades in a coordinated manner.
MIDDLESTATES Standard10: Faculty a: The implementation of a college-wide, mandatory annual student evaluation of part-time and full-time instructional personnel is recommended. A student evaluation process would represent a positive step by which the faculty can receive a review of their teaching styles as perceived by their students and through which students can express their perceptions about instructors, courses, programs, and the college. Student evaluations need not and should not be perceived as punitive, but can be used by individual faculty for self-reflection and improvement as well as for professional advancement within the college. The student evaluation can also serve as an excellent source of affirmation and validation of teaching skills and interpersonal relations, but can also serve as an instrument for professional development. It is interesting to note that informal, unofficial evaluations for some faculty members are currently available on “www.ratemyprofessors.com.”
