Infrared Spectroscope for Chemistry

Initiative TitleInfrared Spectroscope for Chemistry
Submitted in Previous Year(s)2006
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, RationaleThis instrument is a very important conponent of a college level Organic and General Chemistry Course. We will probably need grant funding for this equipment, as it is quite expensive.
Consequences of this initiative not being fundedCurrent instrument is a twenty-year old recycle from Texaco Corp. While it has served us well, it now needs to be replaced. Last year we requested that the current equipment be updated with the installation of a new vacumn system, compressors and pumps.
