Prioritization Notes

Level 2 (Business Math Science and Technology, AVP Office)

This is part of a Developmental Oversight Team finding. Academic Interventions for students who receive H grades is an important initiative to promote student success. Furthermore, in the Math area, this can be accomplished by revisiting the highly ranked but unfunded PB initiative from 08/09 of a Math Resource Room Director.

Level 3 (Academic Affairs and Student Services, Provost, VP Office)

While this initiative originated in the Math Dept., it should also be applied to English as well. Hence, I have doubled the amount requested.

Level 4 (PBIE Committee)

To assist the college’s burgeoning developmental student population, this initiative would allow students that are on the cusp of passing a developmental course to do so without retaking the entire course. Students could then more quickly enroll in credit bearing courses and be more likely to complete degree programs, putting them in a much better position to pursue future educational and professional goals. Further, this project could help students avoid the consequences of the college’s three strikes rule (after three failed attempts at a developmental course, students are separated from the college). The PBIE committee strongly believes this initiative adheres to the spirit of the college’s mission and could quickly produce positive results.
