ITS Governance Structure Implementation

Initiative TitleITS Governance Structure Implementation
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Over the past four years, the college leadership has been working to create a process to allow more transparency and collaboration in defining the work done by the Information and Technology Services (ITS) Department of SUNY Orange County Community College.  This has culminated in the inaugural meeting of the IT Executive Council and the subsequent meetings of the redefined groups consisting of the IT Advisory Group and the System Advisory Group.  The Academic Technology Committee is defined according to the college's governance.  These groups have begun meeting to define their roles in guiding the IT Executive Council in setting priorities for the ITS Department.  We will continue the work of building out these groups to provide the college community the ability to have a clearly defined and transparent process for advancing the information technology of the College.

Consequences of this initiative not being funded

If this initiative is not prioritized, there will be continued confusion about how the ITS Department chooses what initiatives and projects to advance.
