SUNY Orange is a participant in the Eleanor Roosevelt Leadership Center’s ECCEL program. Currently, Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, and Ulster Community Colleges are participating in the pilot.  This program is expected to eventually be expanded to all 64 of SUNY’s campuses. The ECCEL leadership program is designed to prepare students for leadership in all aspects of their lives. The program places a particular focus on personal, academic, and professional growth, self-discovery, and community involvement.  The program is designed to contribute to the students’ academic achievement and workforce success as it prepares them to lead and interact in a global society. This is a two year program. The first year focuses on leadership development through three weekend retreats and monthly on-campus activities and workshops. The second year focuses onapplication through a community service project on campus or in the community-at-large. Nine students are eligible to participate. Interested students must pay a $150 application fee. We are seeking $6,000 in funding to cover the application fee for the accepted students and the cost of on campus workshops and activities implemented as part of the program.  S
