Student Support Initiatives Office

Student Learning Objectives

·         Students will identify academic objective/career goal

·         Students will establish a multiple semester Student Education Plan (SEP) of courses required to complete their objective/career goal

 Outcome Indicators

  •  Students will attend three contacts per semester with an SSIO staff member. Contacts will be documented in the following manner (1) preliminary development of a Student Educational Plan (SEP), (2)  academic early alert and academic mid-semester progress report, (3) final semester contact reviewing the success of completing the semester's SEP and planning for the subsequent semester

·         SEP will document a multiple semester plan leading to completion of the objective / goal, signed by student indicating comprehension of the plan

 During the 2014-15 AY, the Student Support Initiatives Office (SSIO) will continue to provide services that optimize student learning, retention and completion, and allow for a supportive learning and welcoming environment, fostered the emotional growth and personal development of students; and made a positive contribution to the overall student experience.

1 2014-2015 Goals: Create a Retention work group to review the academic outcomes of at-risk student populations and the support services available to them.
2 Continue to reach out to underserved communities to recruit students and develop awareness.
3 Continue to partner and collaborate with business, schools and community organizations to facilitate targeted recruitment and outreach activities.
4 Continue to assess the impact of the Restart Workshop and implement changes as necessary.
5 Identify progressive technology tools and grant funding for purchase and implementation.
6 Continue to participant in the Eleanor Roosevelt Leadership Center’s ECCEL program.
