Library electronic resources accessibility

Initiative TitleLibrary electronic resources accessibility
Submitted in Previous Year(s)No
Critical Information, Notes, Justification, Rationale

Federal Title II law requires the college's electronic systems to be accessible, including vendor databases the library subscribes to. Accessibility of the vendor sites are the responsibility of the vendors. The library responsibility is to review the sites for accessibility and understand accessible navigation of the sites. Librarian training for this responsibility requires time from librarians to attend vendor webinars. This training will be applied during in person and virtual reference and during library instruction. The library and college have the responsibility to assess and remediate downloaded articles and information for accessibility since these downloads may be distributed using the college’s learning management system. Training for this may be provided by the CTL and only requires librarian time to learn.
